Flared rivets

» Looking through
The flare rivet is provided with a cylindrical or conical bore that is aligned with the resilient centering pin of the die.
When the retaining jaws seat the rivet, the punch presses the rivet onto the centering pin in a self-centering manner.
The die shape forces the flanging edge.
Flanging riveting is suitable for rotatable joints and also for fixed joints.
The flanging forces are lower than the upsetting forces when solid rivets are processed.
